In keeping with tradition, the Summer Outdoor league once again came down to a show down between the Cougars and the Panthers. Both team took very different paths to the final. The Cougars once again under their captain Mike Andrews won the regular season, coming away unbeaten. The Panthers started the season missing some key players but managed to stay afloat with some inspired play from their young players. In the playoffs, the Cougars were matched up aginst the Dragons, while the Panther clashed against the Hot Cats. Back to full strenght, the Panthers defeated the Hot Cats 2-0 and the Cougars defeated the Dragons 8-0, setting up another exciting final.
In the final, with no one team gaining advantage, both teams struggled to put the ball in the goal, coming close several times! At the end of regulation the score was still 0-0. The first round of strokes ended at 0-0, seeting the stage for sudden death strokes. On the third shot, the Panthers made their stroke and their goalie, Steve Doucet managed to save the Cougar shot giving the Panthers the victory!
